Perinatal Care & Family Medicine

With continued emphasis on the importance of Family Medicine in Perinatal Care and Maternal Health, this collaborative will serve as a think tank for sharing ideas to increase, promote, and sustain equitable birthing practices across Family Medicine. It is aimed at aspiring and current Directors and Leaders in Women’s and Maternal Health within Family Medicine at all levels (pre-med to practicing attendings). During this conference, a foundation for networking and building a strong coalition of like-minded maternal health care professionals will be established, supported by robust discussions and workshops focused on practical application.

The learning objectives of this collaborative are:

  • Explore the landscape of maternal morbidity and mortality in the Midwest region.
  • Develop coordinated, targeted advocacy efforts around perinatal care.
  • Share efforts to enhance health equity in the Maternal Health Populations we serve.

Suggested Audience: Targeted towards aspiring and current Directors and Leaders in Women’s and Maternal Health within Family Medicine at all levels (from pre-med to practicing attendings).

The Family Medicine Midwest Collaboratives meet throughout the year via Zoom and in person at the FMM Conference.
