Dr. David M. Deci Memorial Scholarship
David M. Deci, MD, was one of the three founding members of Family Medicine Midwest. He served as Chair of the FMM board in 2014 and remained on the board until his retirement from the University of Wisconsin in 2020. He remained connected to FMM as an emeritus board member until 2022. Dr. Deci passed away in 2023, and this award was created in his honor.
The scholarship opens on June 1st, and the application deadline is midnight on July 20th. The recipient will receive $1,000 to cover their conference registration fee and travel costs. Dr. Deci was passionate about Family Medicine, Rural Medicine, and Street Medicine to help those experiencing homelessness; therefore, all applicants should share an interest in these fields.
The Deci Scholarship Task Force will review all applications and select the winner.
