Student Support Funding InformationWe encourage you to first check with your school's department of family medicine to ask if they can help with travel and registration support. Only students enrolled in U.S. medical schools located in the Midwest states of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin are eligible for Family Medicine Midwest Foundation support funding. University of Wisconsin students should use their school's Brillman Funds Form and not submit an application here. Deadline to apply has passed. Applicants will be notified via e-mail and must accept and agree to the terms of the support funding listed below, or decline. All students who are offered funding will be required to register online by September 24. All students are subject to the conference cancellation policy. No refunds will be issued nor funds provided for "no-shows" or cancellations made after the conference cancellation deadline. In order to receive funding support, a student must agree to all these requirements.
Failure to attend the conference will result in forfeiture of your registration fee with the only exceptions being for cancelled flights. Other exceptions are limited to COVID positive tests or other exceptions considered on an individual basis with documentation. Family Medicine Midwest (FMM) is committed to attracting, retaining, and developing outstanding family physicians in the Midwest. We recognize that systems of oppression caused harm in historically marginalized communities, including but not limited to indigenous peoples and their occupied lands, communities of color, LGBTQ+ communities, people of varying abilities and body sizes, immigrant communities and others historically excluded from medicine. These systems of oppression are embedded in our public health, health care, and medical education systems in which family physicians live and work. We are dedicated to attracting, retaining, and developing outstanding family physicians for the future to provide the most equitable and comprehensive care for all. If you have any questions about student funding, please call Ginnie Flynn at 773-754-1185 or email [email protected]. |
